1. What types of eco-divalicious things do you do in your daily life?
Just to name few, i looove creating something desirable out of the unexpected, i didn’t go to school for this design thing & i feel as if that left my mind untouched & creative like a child with no boundary.
A small thing would be: I have a nice collection of recycled glass bottles to carry water on the go for the whole family.
I do not allow my loved ones lips to touch plastic botttled water.
A big thing would be, as i am growing up with my 12 year old son everyday, i am gearing up to create a refuge for underprivileged children to thrive based on art music & spirituality & travel as foreign exchange students, all over the world.
2. How do you apply being an EcoDiva to your business?
Oh, it’s all relevant, as we are all interconnected, so is our intentions & actions. it’s not even applied, it’s just a way of my life, like a second nature.
I used to have an office space in DTLA, now i have closed that shop so i can minimize the travel & all that waste of energy everyday, & be a better eco-diva.
I also have said bye bye to janky cel fones &Â using internet fone… skyping.
I also recycle my shipping & packaging all the way… being & shipping conciously stylish.
3. What made you decide to get into Eco-design? And what makes your work special?
It was never a conscious decision to be an eco-designer, as i just enjoyed working with my hands ( i used to tattoo in NYC for 6 years in my teenage years, i draw, sculpt, paint, sew), I started this line, working with salvedged leather, & soon enough sustainablity was a trend ( thank god the western hemisphere started slowing down with the disposable lifestyle), & now, it is THE WAY…no stopping this green movement of ours.
4. What fun, fabulous and fashionable tips do you have to share with other EcoDivas and EcoDivas-in-training?
Remember ladies, LESS IS MORE.
Be a leader so you can do your part in this green revolution.
Don’t fall into the traps of the commercial consumerism.
Start a trend among your peers, “who can go on the longest with out resorting to a packaged food or drink/ product”
Also avoid all processed food, it only makes us old & busted, inside out.
Visit a farmer’s market atleast once a week, preferebly more.
Boycott all factory farmed products, as it is slowly killing our world, & this must stop.
Support your local designers & boutiques.
Take comfort knowing every step you take towards an aware & conscious decision, will be returned 100 times big & strong.
Be a trend setter & inspire others to be EcoDivas… specially lil’ girls, they sooooo look up to us, & it’s time we be grand & gracious with our blessed EcoDiva-selves.
Do start a collection of Good Karma Points, seemingly, we need them more than ever.
5. (To help alleviate eco-anxiety – no one can do everything, but everyone can do something) What’s one thing you can’t quite give up or change to be more eco (yet)?
oh there’s a tons,
it’s not easy going completely eco, living in these days, i still buy bananas for my growing son, when he finishes growing up i’ll stop buying bananas, they come from too far away land & have a huge carbon foot print.
